The best things in life are nearest: Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you. Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life's plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life. ~Robert Louis Stevenson
Besides the noble art of getting things done, there is the noble art of leaving things undone. The wisdom of life consists in the elimination of non-essentials. ~Lin Yutang
You know how I LOVE my quotes! There is great wisdom here. Keep it simple! Get back to the basics. Spring clean! Throw away. Focus on the necessities of life, love, health, your spirit within, and giving. I love the simple life! And I have to remember, even doing laundry, dishes, and cleaning toilets is part of my "duties". There is beauty to be found in all things, as simple as they may be!

aaaaaaaah so true...and it describes my day perfectly! i love your picture!!! did you make the bread!?
What beautiful quotes. Love the picture, and what a cute towel in the background!! The simple chores in life can be so satisfying, rewarding, and CALMING especially when we get back to basics. I may be going off on a tangent here, but kind of like with my clothesline--laundry is a joy because I feel like I'm getting back to basics and it seems to slow time down a bit, if just for a moment. Baking with my own hands does the same thing, or even taking a bath instead of a shower. A couple days ago I had a day straight from hell and that night I took a nice hot soak in the bathtub. I hadn't done that forever (our tub brought me back to Westside, if you know what I mean, and I felt like I was a child again for a brief moment) and it was just the remedy I needed. Very therapeutic. I feel a connection to my ancestors when I'm doing the simple things in life, the old fashioned way, not the modern way, and it is so refreshing.
so nice to meet you at Shauna's party. Let's plan on after Easter to get together for a photography gab session at my place!
