Yes it's true. I spent the entire day yesterday at D.I. and consignment stores around SLC! I came home smelling like it too but fully satisfied with my finds! My sister Emily and I had a great time hunting for just the right "shabby chic" and ended up with a car full of treasures! I have a passion for vintage and we were lucky to find: amber drinking glasses, a small bell jar, an Anthropologie napkin (which will make a beautiful pillow face), a two teared tea table with ruffly edge, an ottoman (which Em will cover in a cute fabric for her family room), an antique globe, and an old black and white photograph from Europe signed by the photographer. My favorite find as of late is this adorable chair! It was $15.00! It needs a paint job and a re-upholstered seat but that will hardly cost anything at all! AND it will be fun. AND I am up for the task! So, wait for an "after shot" because I am all ready dreaming of fabric and paint options!!!!

Ok...another freaky moment! I'll send you the link to the new chairs that are being built for me. They are french antique replicas and guess what? They look almost like this chair! I'm getting them for my dining room! I can't wait. They are building the table too. It's a trestle table. I won't get them until March or April, but I can't wait! It just goes to prove no matter how far we live from each other we just keep picking the same things to love!
I wish I could love thrift stores. I try to love them, but it just never works out for me. I always walk out empty handed. I just don't have the vision. I can't wait to see the finished product.
I miss the DI runs! I saw a rocking chair with the twirly legs and caning like Mom has at the thrift store in town recently. It made me smile and miss her. Our thrift store used to be better. I have only found total crap when I've gone lately. Maybe it'll pick up this spring...I need new front room furniture.
I can't wait to see what you do with it. We're on the same wavelength--I have the need to make something with my hands and just wrote a draft about my adventures in crocheting. Doesn't it just make you feel so good when you can create something or fix something up? It's the boost that I need these days.
