WICKED

Last night Kel and I went to the long awaited Broadway play, Wicked, at Capitol Theatre. We began the night dining up Millcreek Canyon at Log Haven, waited upon by a friend of ours who we didn't know worked there! We had a nice, quiet dinner sitting by the window overlooking the falls and trees. Coach Malone was there too! We then raced back through the rain to Salt Lake and saw the play. I hadn't researched this play because I heard it was SOOOOOO GOOD and didn't need to know more than that. I am glad I went in not knowing the story because I was pleasantly surprised!!! Favorites: Costume-WOW! Tim Burton would be drooling! Songs-"Popular", of course, and "Defying Gravity". Loved the creative twists with Wizard of OZ movie! Very clever! Kelly's mom, two sisters, and niece and nephew were also there! These pictures are LAME and I almost got kicked out taking them with my little pocket camera but had to do it. So, if you haven't seen Wicked yet, take the next opportunity, you will become a believer!

Easter Sunday

We just turned out the lights. The party is over! What a wonderful evening we had with my family, celebrating Easter! We had my parents and five of my sisters and my brother over plus their kids! Lots of kids! We did a really smart thing and sent the excited children off to play while we had a peaceful, HOT meal which was absolutely delicious! Then we fed the kids and sent them off to play again! I am tired...but good tired. I love spending time with my family and am glad to have had them in my home. Good times!

coloring, eating, hiding, finding, eating...

Today we got lucky. The forecast said rain. We got through our OUTDOOR family Easter Egg Hunt without hardly a drop. We gathered at my brother's house and ate a wonderful lunch under the apple trees. The kids have a blast playing catch with the big boys and dads, bouncing on the tramp, and swinging on the tire swing!!! The hunt was a success- colorful eggs, treats galore, and eggs with MONEY inside! It was a perfect afternoon! Thanks C & N!

Wheeler Farm

Spring break is here! We have been "chillin" since Kelly had a business trip for the majority of the week. No big trip, no big plans. Today we spent the day with some of our favorite friends! We went out to Wheeler Farm to see the cute babies and their mommy's! It made me feel like Spring is finally here! The kids loved their tractor ride and feeding the lambs. We had PERFECT weather too!

E is for Edamame

My new favorite snack! I just discovered the huge bag of individually wrapped edamame packages from Costco! All you do is puncture the package and microwave for 2 minutes then toss with sea salt! It is soooo good and healthy and quick and easy not to mention HEALTHY! Love these little soybeans! Edamame is the Japanese word for "twig bean".

Happy Birfday Sam!

The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of my little Sammy is his big smile! He has such a happiness and excitement for life! He also has what has been called "SpongeBob" teeth or hippo teeth! They are every dentist's dream-nicely spaced! Second, Sammy is known for his hair! He came into the world with a full head of dark hair and got his first hair cut after a couple of months. His uncle calls him "mushroom boy" because of his famous hair cut. He has great hair! Very appropriate that his name is Sam-Samson? Sam is also our little "mousy" because when he was just a toddler he'd come pitter-pattering down our hard wood floor hall way to our bedroom in the night or early morning to snuggle in close. He now is still known as "mousy" because he sneaks around, climbs and scurries into the pantry on a regular basis to literally nibble threw bags of sugar and chocolate chips to get his fix! He LOVES sugary snacks and treats! He sleeps with Noah mostly every night because he likes to be close and warm. They are great friends! He is an awesome bike rider and loves his scooter too! He has NO fear! He is very daring and willing to try new things. Last year he learned how to swim and went off the water slide at the pool, the diving board and thought nothing of it! One of my most frightening moments as a parent was when I was BIG and pregnant with Jenna and I had taken the kids to North Canyon Park to play. We were all getting into the car and I thought Sam was on the other side of the car but he wasn't, he was running for Bountiful Boulevard! He had just gone into the road when I finally grabbed him! I could hardly run with my big belly and it was like moving in slow motion! A car was coming down the road-fast and I was shaking after I got him back to the car! Other than that, Sam has given me no trouble and has been good at staying close! Sam loves art and if I let him, he'd paint EVERY day! He loves to play board games, Lego's and DS!!!! Sam was my only baby who loved the binky. He was a very quiet baby because of this! When we took the binky out, he started to talk in sentences after his two years of silence! He was listening all that time and just waiting for his turn. Sam would rather play with Noah's friends or older kids than his own friends and his own age group. He must feel that they are more interesting or that they are just "cool" to be around. He has been known to completely ignore a playdate to slip away and be with the big boys! He is doing great in Kindergarten! He loves school and looks forward to it everyday! He still seems so small and I still like to think of him as my baby but lets face it, those days are slipping away and I soon will have a big boy on my hands! I love my Sam!
