Our good friends and neighbors, The Lowes, invited us to go to Huntsville to celebrate the 4th. We left early and had breakfast at the park, played a few games and then watched the parade. The weather was perfect! Bountiful had been so hot and it was actually cool up there. We went to Dan's uncle's ranch afterwords and the kids road the oldest horse I've ever seen! Jenna couldn't get enough! She was so cute and happy! She had watched Bailey when Bailey was having her riding lessons and always wanted a shot. We went fishing in a pond on the property and caught alot of fish-trout mostly. We kept a few and ate them the next day at the Lowe's. Little Sam Lowe's pole got yanked in by a big fish while Sam wasn't looking. Kelly couldn't catch it fast enough! Later, Kelly decided that he wanted to get their pole back so he jumped in and found it (with the fish still on the line!) We ate at a great little place in town with the best fish tacos ever! We went back to the car and the battery was dead! Luckily Dan is extremely handy and just rigged up some wire and fixed it. We got to a hardware store, got the part we needed and Dan fixed it in 10 minutes! We were glad he was with us! It was a great day! Thank you Lowe's! Oh, when we got back we later went to see fireworks at my sister Holly's house in Layton. She lives close to the High School (where the show was) so it was perfect! The kids loved it except for Jenna. She was pretty scared so she stayed inside the house during the show. When we got home at 11:30, to our horror, both of the front doors were wide open! The one door is stationary with two bolts-one on top, one on the bottom. I had dead bolted the door before we left. We were really scared that our house had been robbed! Kelly went in first to make sure there wasn't anyone in the house. Luckily everything was OK! The wind must have blown the doors open! Maybe we hadn't put the bolts in the top and bottom of the stationary door last time we opened them up to move something? Who knows, all I know is that we were watched over that day and we were so grateful for that!
