all i want for christmas is my two front teeth!
This event will never happen to Noah again! Missing two front teeth at Christmas time is BIG! I remember being in the same predicament. But honestly, I don't think Santa is going to be able to fit the bill, even with mass amounts of Winder Dairy!!!!! But he sure looks CUTE!

new beds!
Kelly and I have been putting off getting our boys beds for years. I guess it wasn't a priority! One of my new favorite stores (Down East Home) had a great deal on some Pottery Barn beds and I just went ahead with it! At Pottery Barn they were $800.00 each with shipping! At Down East the exact same bed in perfect condition was $379.00 AND Zion's gives cash back at Down East so we saved hundreds!!!!! I was so happy to find TWO beds that matched and were in such great condition. Kelly drove up to Ogden to get them but it was worth it! The boys were so happy I thought they were going to cry! Noah said that this was the best present ever! SO now I can check off beds and start saving for some other fun thing for the house! I love to find good deals!!!!

The best day!
Today was one of those days that I want to catalog as a favorite. Jenna and I drove up to Layton this morning and spent the day with my mom and dad and 3 of my sisters. The purpose of this gathering was to help my mom make her annual Christmas goodies that she gives to each of us every year! I have mentioned a couple of Christmas breads that have been in the family since our family begun. These breads are German Stollen and King's Cake (which is a buttery, dense almond paste filled, almond "cake". These two breads are a serious tradition in our family but they take TIME! The King's cake especially! This was the first year we got together to help my mom with this great task! (10 kids in family=10 King's cakes and 10 Stollen!!!!) We had a lot of work to do but it was so much fun! There is nothing better than being together in the kitchen and learning, laughing, and tasting, reminiscing, catching up, sharing ideas and simply being together at mom's. We made English Toffee too and had lunch and then just sat and talked while the kids played happily together! I loved this day! Why didn't we think to do this sooner? New tradition? I love my family!!!! Thanks mom for all the years of heart felt work and love!

Nutty Fetish
I love the Nutcracker, the story and yes, the ballet. I used to "ice skate" around my kitchen in my socks to the Nutcracker music when I was a girl. I still LOVE the music! I started collecting nutcrackers when Kelly and I won a table full of these guys at a company Christmas party. Then, when I took Bailey to her first production of the Nutcracker Ballet, I picked up another and then never stopped! My favorite is my Scottish bagpiper which was last year's pick. This year I got a fisherman for Kelly (one of his favorite hobbies). I love to find a nutcracker with meaning to one of us every year! (A pirate for the boys, a baker for me...etc.) It is a fun collection-bright and colorful and the kids love to look at them!

As Burl Ives would say, "It was the storm of storms!"
Yes, we got dumped on up here in the mountains yesterday. I thought I'd post some pictures of our "marshmallow" world for all you who felt jipped by the storm. Eight new, gnarly tires later, Kelly and I dream of our life in CA...no snow, no ski coats, gloves, boots...ahhh those were the days! BUT, (yes but), the kids just LOVE the snow and it is cozy...until Jan.1st.!
