First day of 6th grade!
First day of pre-school!
Our celebration of the first week of school! Lion King at Capitol Theatre!
They LOVED, LOVED it! I had goose bumps it was so good!
What a beautiful thing, school! I am one of those moms that loves having my kids in school. If I had it my way, they'd go to year round school. The more they learn, the better. It makes me happy knowing that they are progressing. This year is slightly different from other years. I took the boys out of public school and moved them to private. This is a 4 hour private school in Salt Lake. It covers all academics but it is essentially like a home school. Small class sizes, a couple teachers (35 kids), and the boys go at their own pace. Yes, they are encouraged to move up when they are ready and to challenge themselves but they do it when they are ready. No pressure. Bailey is in 6th grade this year and has a wonderful teacher. She is happy and independent and I love her for it! I have my hands full with the boys and trying to teach Jenna how to read etc. (She is in pre-school and will be in Kindergarten next year.) Also, I have gone back to school myself! I'm loving it! I was very nervous my first day. I felt like I was in a room full of mostly young, ambitious, over achieving students and here I was, a mom of four, with palms sweating! Luckily the next class time was easier and I made sure I raised my hand more than once to get over the anxiety. I am learning valuable, wonderful info and absorbing it like a sponge! It has been too long! I wish I would have found a way to finish 15 years ago but life happened, kids and moving and kids!!!! Our focus as a family this year is definitely education but also, spiritual education. It feels good to give them both in abundance! So, here we go! Another year...

Capitol Hill sounds like a very good thing. I loved the picture of Jenna-I can't believe she'll be in kindergarten next year already! And I'm so proud of you for going back to school--not an easy task for us "old folks". You'll do great. And all those young students will be looking up to you for sure. You'll have to fill us in on what classes you're taking. Education is everything, and the example you're setting for your kids is priceless. HAPPY BIRTHDAY by the way!!!!!!!!!!! One year older and wiser too, happy birthday, TO YOU!!!!!! I love you!
It's never too late--good for you for going back!! Hope your kids all have a fantastic year--I know Bailey will for sure with Mr. King! And let me know if you want to "help" with the Valentine's Dance...
Steve and I went to Lion King on a last minute whim, and the opening sequence alone was worth the price! Fantastic! You are my hero for going back to school. I need to work up the courage to do that...I love being in a classroom setting, but scared of competing with the young overachievers!
