Homemade, with love

I know store bought is easier but there is something very sweet about a homemade Valentine! When I was in grade school, I got one very special homemade Valentine from a boy in my class and thought that it was the neatest thing ever! So, this year I asked Bailey if she'd like to make her own and she enthusiastically said YES! She chose to fill muffin wrappers with conversation hearts and decorate the outside with hearts. We had fun picking out the most absurd messages on the hears. "Top Chief" What is that all about? "Email Me" that should be "Text Me" now! So outdated! Ha Ha! Sam also wanted to make a few so here he is with his scissors cutting out paper hearts to stick a Dum Dum through! They did a beautiful job! We also made chocolate shortbread cookies with white chocolate drizzle on top for their teachers. We wrote on a few to make it fun! We had to test them out, of course! Mmmmm!

These are so cute! I was very disappointed with the school here. I got notes from both teachers saying to send valentines without names on the To section. Just write From: SoandSo. How impersonal! Thomas' teacher didn't even send home a class list!! My highlight was carefully choosing out the conversation hearts. I didn't want to give I love you to the weird boy!! And I wanted to be sure my friends and that special boy knew just how I felt. Maybe that's just a girl thing. But I know my boys wouldn't want to give any girls I love you candy!! (well maybe they'd each have one secret one they'd like to give, but were too shy to!!) Isn't it fun? Why don't they remember and stop being so practical. OK. I'm done.
